Car rental in Orlando

In one of my recent posts I asked about Disneyworld passes. Thanks Matt for all the great info. However, is it or is it not difficult to get a car rental award in Orlando. I am trying to plan my points/miles around this issue as well as the airfare.
Thanks everyone.

What type of car rental award are you talking about? I would think an AMEX award would not be capacity controlled at all since they are for dollar amounts ...

I think you may be confusing the difficulty some people have had with car rentals in general in Orlando. In Orlando Avis, National, and Budget are in the airport while Hertz and others are off airport, so it is generally much more convenient to select one of the on airport car rental agencies!

Make sure you read my earlier thread about the mini WDW trip report and National Car Rental.

Last time I was there, Dollar was still on-site, and I have never had a problem with them. Hertz is off-site, but if you're a #1 Gold Member, it's not that inconvienent as the bus takes you right to your car and BING...you're out of there. If you have to have on-site, give Dollar a try. Avoid Alamo at all costs!
