Check in Time Question

I am a Prestige member flying YYZ-LHR on the 11:55pm flight on Sunday (AC858) in Y. I am on a B fare so do not expect to be able to use an upgrade . However, my TA is insisting that I must be at the airport 3 hours in advance for an international flight. Given the time of day, and that T1 airport must be close to deserted by then, is this really true? If I do not get there until 10:30pm, would I have a problem?

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

Your TA is correct and I am glad that they are still telling customers to show up early enough.

However, since you're a Prestige member and you can use J-class ckin I would say show up 1.5 hrs before departure and that should be enough.

Int flights are normally closed 45 min to departure which means you'll lose your seat at that point and may not be allowed to travel.

Ckin should not take more then 5-10 min but always allow extra time for possible issues with your ticket/bag/security etc

Hope this helps!

Prestige can use J-class check in? I don't think so unless I have lost track of the areoplan naming convention. Or does B class have some special privileges? Do you need to rethink this ACDUDE?

AC Dude is right. Prestige has the benefit of check-in at J counter.

But no priority bags, unless you have a nice , , or some other endearing feature.

Thanks everybody. I am glad that I will be able to spend a bit more of my Sunday home with my kids.
