pretty low compared with other promos -- they are trying to entice me from putting my points in LH Miles and More aren't they?

Yes, not as juicy as the 60K promo but a great start to the year.

Has anyone really played with this promo and found most segments for least dollars?

Was playing around work with a sale that ends 02 Jan and got 8 segments YEG-YYC-YCG-YVR-YYJ//YYJ-YVR-YLW-YYC-YEG in N class for 287.00 inc tax. Already have 2 qualifying segments on YEG-VIE trip early Mar '02, so would only need another 2 segments to get full 15,000 AP bonus.

I have just been doing this segment search myself.

I am hoping for the seat sale next week to book a mileage run.

I quickly looked at ex=YVR and looks like YVR-YXE is still the best. 8 segments for $320 including taxes. Booked in N class.

Another promotion biased towards western Canadians! Thank goodness I still have two businesses based in Alberta so I can take advantage of them. Who says AC hates western Canadians, and Albertans in particular!

I think tcook books through SABRE, since s/he works for a TA, no? This means eight segments are possible, and if s/he'll do it for me, I would willingly pay the $50 TA charge since I have to do a YEG-YYJ trip in early March. Last promo I was onlly able to book it as 6 segments on AC's site: Destina wanted $80 more for the same itinerary!

On a lark: I tried Destina...

11 Jan: YWG-YXE-YQR-YYC-YVR

12 Jan: YVR-YYC-YEG-YYC-YWG total: 8 segments

$548.30 a tad on the expensive side but I was surprised that it allowed back tracking YYC-YEG-YYC

PS I didn't book it.

I tried Destina for both your itineraries and kept getting to many flight segments per day. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Amazing how taxes and fees shoot up a $85 1-way/$170 RT fare!

Here you go.

Destina - under multi-city, enter:
City pair 1: YWG-YXE; Jan 11
City pair 2: YXE-YQR; Jan 11
City pair 3: YQR-YLW; Jan 11
City pair 4: YLW-YVR; Jan 11
City pair 5: YVR-YQR; Jan 12
City pair 6: YQR-YWG; Jan 12

(You got a high price before because of the flight back to YYC and hard to get > 3 segments in eastbound.)

Then you should pick these flights:

JAN11 AC8184 YWG YXE 0925 1045
JAN11 AC103 YXE YQR 1135 1215
JAN11 AC8453 YQR YYC 1450 1540
JAN11 AC8251 YYC YLW 1745 1750
JAN11 AC8479 YLW YVR 1820 1910
---
JAN12 AC206 YVR YYC 0915 1135
JAN12 AC8406 YYC YQR 1220 1500
JAN12 AC8348 YQR YWG 1525 1650

Total including taxes is $392.08 CAD for 8 segments (L class).

Booking 8 or more segments on destina is not hard as long as you know where to pair city pairs up.

Let me know if you need more help.

I hope the cheapest way for this promo is not to travel Tango 6 R/T between YUL and YYZ!! I'll go do a little search and try to get something good and cheap!
