Best Meal In Ages (As far as plane food goes...)
I have to admit that I was shocked to have, not only two NEW choices of meals on my flight to KIN yesterday, but it was the best airplane food I have in ages. I was expecting the standard Beef or Chicken/Salmon options that have been staple for the last few months. I almost fell out of my seat when the nice FA offered me a choice of Pork Tenderloing or Beef Wellington.
I went with the Beef Wellington and it was really good!

The food in economy section (at least on the asian routes) is stored in kidney shaped plates. There are also other smooth floral contours used for the other containers. I guess they decided to improve the cosmetic view and not the content.

Flew J on JAZZ yesterday from PDX-YVR. Just an hour in the air but was served a full sandwich lunch with salad, wines, etc. Very nicely prepared for an 11am meal. I assume this is the same J lunch meal AC has put on its YVR/YYC/YEG and YYZ/YOW/YUL/NYC/ORD short haul flights. Connected onto AC100 to YYZ which was an intercontinental AC 767, and had best domestic J in a long time, with what looks to be the new menu. FA came through and took dinner orders from all SEs and Es, full-fare pax, then upgrades were offered their choice of remaining entrees as they were being served.

Btw, anyone knows whether there's a meal on an afternoon YYZ-YVR flight? (3pm) Haven't flown an afternoon YYZ-YVR flight in a while.

Pretty sure there is a full hot lunch on that flight, like all transcons. I have yet to be on a transcon at any hour -- other than red eye -- that did not cater a full meal. Likely be the same as I had last week: braised radicchio and portobello mushroom salad, steak, pasta or lamb entree, maple walnut pie.

Thanks Shareholder. The lamb sounds good but I am in the last row of J so hopefully they still have it by the time they get to me.
You know... AC food doesn't look at bad on www.airlinemeals.net except picture 019 under AC which looks nasty.

Maybe they just load 500 burritos in the plane at 4am and keep serving them all day until they're gone?
