New SE welcome letter

As an SE for the first time, I received a welcome to SE letter with 1 set of SWU's last Friday. I still haven't received the SE kit with the card, luggage tags (?), phone numbers/email addresses, etc.

Is that normal procedure?

This is not normal, however, given the changes of late who knows what is "normal".

Hmm... never got anything like that. Are the SWU just the regular 2002 whites?

Maybe because you qualified under the reduced level?

Empress - correct on both accounts. When you say "regular whites", as a former Elite that's not what we used to get, but these are white SE SWU certs. And yes, I only did 96K on AC last year so I did qualify under the reduced bar (although had I done the same number of flights on UA which I could have done had I been just a wee bit smarter I'd probably have done 125K or so).

Could they be holdin back on the kits to revamp them in light of those major concessions they've made following the complaints? I've not gotten a letter or a kit yet.

I haven't got the SWU's either.. nothing came with my Jan. statement...never got ANY SWU's last year at all... did the year before but nothing for 2001... maybe they will all come at once when I get the kit??

I never used my SWU's in the past, so didn't really worry about it, but now that I have found this group, I could have the option of giving them to others... so now I want them... lol

Does the second page of your January 12th SE statement which arrived in the mail recently contain the changes announced in response to that errorplan protest newsletter? This might suggest that those who had not yet received their SE kits are now going to get a reprinted version containing the changes. And that the Elite and Prestige kits are being modified, and thus delayed.

I saw quite a few new SE tags on today's flight from YEG, about five of us in the full J cabin had them, so the kits are getting out.

I've not received my SE statement yet, but my daughter's E statement has the following: "We've listened closely to your feedback and have revised some planned changes to the 2002 top-tier benefits program". I don't have the letter with me, but I don't think it listed those "revised" benefits.

The 2 page statement does have the modified benefit listings along with those famous words "we've listened closely...".

I thought the statement "we've listened closely to your feedback..." was interesting since for most Elite members the January statement would have been their first notification of any changes. When did the opportunity for feedback come in?
