New Calgary-Ottawa, Halifax and Chicago flights
MONTREAL - Air Canada announced today that it will increase its service between Calgary and the cities of Ottawa and Halifax. Subject to obtaining convenient landing slots at Chicago O’Hare Airport, the airline also intends to introduce daily non-stop service between Calgary and Chicago.
The airline will introduce twice daily non-stop service between Calgary and Ottawa on May 3, 1999. Effective the same date, Air Canada will also add a second daily non-stop service between Calgary and Halifax. With the addition of this second Halifax flight, Air Canada continues to offer its customers the most daily non-stop service between the two cities. The airline will operate state-of-the-art A319 aircraft on both routes.
“Air Canada has always been fully committed to developing its Calgary hub,” said Rupert Duchesne, Vice President Marketing. “The introduction of Calgary-Ottawa non-stop service and the expansion of the Calgary-Halifax service will greatly enhance Air Canada’s presence in Calgary and will be of particular interest to our business travellers.”
To celebrate the occasion, all Aeroplan members will obtain double bonus miles when flying with Air Canada on the Calgary-Ottawa non-stop route, between May 3 and June 30, 1999.
