Ansett (Australia) and Air New Zealand join Star Alliance
It seems a deal (Hemisphere magazine, Aug-98, page 136): Air New Zealand and Ansett Australia have signed memorandum confirming of joining Star-Alliance in 1999 (with the same status-mile-rules and lounge-privileges as the other alliance-members).
