Cell tower in the middle of MDW
I'll let the powers to be get all huffy puffy and move this elsewhere - to early in the AM to think of where to put this.
Anyway, I found a near site that lists all of Sprint PCS's cell towers. It is searchable by city, state, zip, lat & long, etc...
http://www.sprintsites.com/tower/sitesearch.html
So I am bored and do a search on all the towers in IL. I take the latitude and longitude locations, convert to the format MS Streets accepts, import the data, and look to see where all the towers are. Kind of neat - get to see how they all bunch up near the interstates. Most popup around Chicago with a fair number on the east side of the Mississippi from St Louis.
Anyway, one of them pops up right in the middle of Midway! It puts it at :
N 41.78352 and W 87.7516
N 41D 47M 0.6S and W 87D 45M 5.8S
If you pull that up on a map and compare it to a diagram of MDW, it puts it almost dead center of the aiport, just about at the intersection of TWY Y and RWY 13R/31L. I know it must be a mistake, but thought it was funny nonetheless - keep those Southwest pilots on their toes!

DLSize,
If you knew this was the wrong place to post, couldn't you have taken the time to place it in the right place?
This is why we have so many problems with threads in the right place.
It is bad enough when people post who do not know better, but really bad when someone says up front that they know they are posting in the wrong place. {sigh}
Why cause more work for our already-overworked moderators?
William
