Interesting ranking and makes me curious to get to some of those I have not visted yet. I have been in the BA lounge in JFK and words cannot adequately describe it. It also has the only airside smoking area I know of at that terminal. And the Silver Kris lounge in SIN is a standard unto itself. Have read here so many good things about the Wing that must be next. Virgin SFO better than Virgin LHR? Hmmmm, maybe a F Class roundtrip SFO-LHR is in order to see what the true story there is.
Thanks for posting the link Rudi.

Somehow I don't think they listed the lounge in order of rank... they just put the 10 they think are the best... no mention if it's in order or not....
I've been to 5 out of the 10 lounges, and I agree with most on most of them..

At the risk of rocking the boat here, I agree that the cabanas at The Wing are great... but the main lounge/work area in the F class section strike me as just a little bit cold.
Then again, I guess the consensus is that it is only the best in the world... not perfect.

we Swiss can need that recognition being 'represented' with 2 lounges in ZRH. But I guess, that the Swissair's smokers lounge won't do it long anymore ...
The newly opened (july-2001) ZRH StarAlliance lounge with a business and a (not much different) first class section, is really nice, but lacks a Barkeeper it is serve yourself 'policy').

Regarding the Wing, can flyers pay for a one-day pass if they have no status on Cathay Pacific? I'm a United 1K but I don't know if there is any way that I could get in. I'd sure be willing to drop $35 to get in once.

Interesting.
I've been in ZRH in the SR lounge in February, 2000; also in Dubai at the same time. Neither time was I impressed with lounges (heck, I don't even remember there being a lounge in Dubai that trip). At any rate, it must be that both places have upgraded since.
I agree with the Wing and Silver Kris at Changi...but the Silver Kris at Incheon also rates very very highly on my list. And the non MH-lounges at KUL are very mediocre, at least the one JL used last trip was.
I'd also vote for the QF lounge at MEL, very nice, spacious, friendly, even has a bookstore inside.

the ZRH lounge, that Forbes claims to be one of the 10 bests, is not the normal business (or first class) lounge of Swissair in term A. This is the very special 'smokers' lounge run by Swissair (also in term A) - with the best selection of (cuban and others) cigars (and drinks that go with it) that the late Mr Davidoff would be proud of.
