SFO to Mark Hopkins transportation
About what should the charges be for 2 people from SFO to the Mark Hopkins when using a limo/sedan service? Any companies that can be suggested will be appreciated. Many thanks.

Great choice in hotel. I was there last week.
My strong recommendation is to rent a car. You'll probably end up saving good money.
Barring that, if you're a Six Continents member, the hotel can arrange for a pickup.

Taxi will cost around $30. Sedan or limo should be no more than $40. The Mark is quite close to the Hertz and other city rental car facilities in case you want to return the car there. Of course you will have to deal with the SFO rental car ordeal to get your car. Public transit is not a viable option - yet. The BART requires a bus for the next year or so, and leaves you on Market Street, where you would need to take the Powell Street cable car to the Mark ($2 per person). And the express bus also leaves you in a pickle - at Fremont and Mission.
My favorite is to take one of the private vans. They are on the departure level at the drive farther from the terminal, at several spots at the airport. Costs $10 per person, and it can be relatively quick if you get one of the vans with few other passengers. But the Mark will be one of the last stops if there are other passengers. First stop tends to be the Hilton, the Marriott, etc.: the hotels closer to Market Street.

a sedan service is flat rate, a cab can be $40 or more during rush hour and dirty as all get-out. call the hotel and ask for a recommendation. it should be $35 or $45. a lot of times the limo drivers hang out at baggage claim and you can get one without a reservation.
if you rent a car, parking can kill you at $25 a day at some locations. i dont know if your hotel charges for parking.

The 'Mark' is a great hotel. I would call the concierge and see what they have to say.
I have had good luck with the concierge desk at the Mark Hopkins hotel getting last minute dinner reservations and tickets to shows.
