No need to send them to a prison - send them to me. However, I think the article you're referring to may be in error. Early research traced the virus to Florida. There's no way it could have found New Jersey from there. No way it could have found New Jersey. Period. By the way, my wife's boss' name is Melissa. And they do computer security for the FDIC. Imagine the office discussion!

As the Co-Cop, Rudi, I must tell you off for not labelling this thread as OMNI

I wouldn't want to be fired when the Cat-Cop gets back!!

OMNI OMNI OMNI
(three times for luck -- can't torque off the tree because then we hear about her bark -- oh never mind!)

We have a 17 year old daughter named Melissa. As much time as she spends on AOL Instant Messenger, I wouldn't be surprised if one of her "cyber amours" created the danged thing in her honor!

a contrere', baobab, I would want to be fired from the Catcop job. I haven't seen a list of volunteers lately, so does that mean that one must be protestingly drafted to the Catcop position?

Post Script for Rudi: I saw the news on CNN and the indication was that the person had been arrested in JERZEE. Since "The Cat" is in Nawlins, the authorities(if there are any in JERZEE), must have the wrong person.

OMNI: The story keeps developing (which should keep CATMAN interested, although he hasn't contributed yet (could it be 'cause he's in jail?). Seems the guy was arrested in JERZEE, but the virus was named "Melissa" after a topless dancer in Florida, where he once lived. Don't these things come back to haunt you?

Now I'm insulted.....

I'm neither the creator nor the disseminator of the Melissa virus.

I would never stoop to anything so low...AND be stupid enough to use AOL to do it...AND be stupid enough to get caught.

In fact, I'm finding it hard to believe that anyone could be that stupid.

Maybe it was the true identity of Arturo.

I am sooooo proud baobab to have caught your censorship attention - and I am sooooo proud to never have used that "semi-"censorship heading word OMNI to introduce any of my 2'500 entries yet - as OMNI as they were (my creatorship of the OMNI-award, the former nancy_emmeth_etc-award, an idea I shared with CatMan and he immediatly supported it strongly, was on the contrary thought as a support of so called OMNI-themes with "just" a general interest-link to our ff-topics here). - I am fighting too many rules and dictatorship(s) as my ancient "Willy Tell" did.

At the moment I think, we should put a big question-mark on the recent censorship-policy on this board: it looks like recent topics under the buzz (***uchan) and UA (the 1'000 miles earning marketing questionary) were censored/erased.

One thing is for sure, if ever one of my postings will be censored/erased, without valid argumentation/reason, I will say good by to this board (and maintain recently created personal friendships using other communication ways).

The problem with being over here is that even though it is "tomorrow" here right now (1312, 4 Apr), we're still often too late - the thread passes us by before we can get to it.

Which is just a lead-in to say that had I been here earlier, I could have commented (at the appropriate place in the thread) that baobab's bark would probably be no worse than her bytes.
