anyone get this - MVPGold Retention

Got a postcard in the mail on Saturday. AS airlines really misses me.

So, if I fly six rts or 12 segments by dec 31, I get to keep my status.

I have flown something like 40K this year on AS. After the first 20K on AS I moved my miles over to AA. I did book all my tickets on AS stock and gave them all my money.

I was going to ask MP if they would consider giving my MVP Gold Status based on my mileage actually flown, but it looks like they probably won't.

So, I guess I'll look for some webspecials to boise via pdx or geg in the next few weeks.

I wonder if I can do this for under $300 bucks.

I got the same card. Already had 4 RT planned in the next couple of weeks. I am going to take a couple of AS vacations to RNO.. $100ish for air and 2 nights hotel for the other two.

lalala,
one thing I did recently to get some quick extra miles needed for AA EXP (via AS on an extremely limited time schedule) was to book a few weekend internet AS sale fares & go out & back on the same Saturday...such as a SEA-PHX-SEA (2212 base or Qmiles R/T). I don't think those Saturday webfare departures require a stayover....just a thought! If just segments are needed, just think how many "cheap" SEA-PDX flights you could do in a day!

fred-
sea-pdx is no way a cheap flight. My partner books at least one a week (when not using her easypack) at they have never been less than $99 rt.

However, if some good looking sea-geg tickets come up, i'll be doing the hop via pdx.

I have committed all my AS flying for the year to AA and EXP.

So I have a few weekends left for AS or I'll just bag it and settle for MVP.

I haven't abandoned AS, in fact, I've flown them more than ever.

I'd try for a 6 segment trip (2x) doing SEA/PDX/OAK/SNA or something like that each way.

lalala, last year I did exactly as you putting all my AS flights into my AA acct but I kept a very detailed spread sheet of all my activity and mailed it to AS customer service with a letter and voila, I've been MVPG since last November.

You might try this, it worked for me.

dudemon-

I called and no dice. gotta fly those segments or lose it.

Looks like its walla walla or bust for me.

Tried the six segment daytrip to SNA, but its about 380 after using the AS50 mileage award. So, its webspecials for me. After all the problems I had this week, I figured AS deserves another 400 bucks of my business, they do go the extra miles for MVPGolds.

lala - Hope by Walla Walla you had seen the below from the web special that just came out this AM. Looks like lots of segments for not much $$s. Hope it works from SEA, but then the drive to ALW isn't that far to gain the legs you need.

We have no Web Specials available from Pasco/Kennewick, WA (PSC). But Walla Walla (ALW) isn't too far from you. Check out our Web Specials from Walla Walla (ALW).

Round trip coach fares from Walla Walla, WA to*:

Seattle, WA $ 59

My friend got it, but I didn't. He gave me the code and the website said my # wasn't eligible. He's gonna do it. For Bay Area people, it looks likes 6 trips of OAK-SNA @ $61.30 each is the cheapest way to achieve. Good Luck all.

I got this too - planning on milk run ANC-JNU-KTN-SEA trip. Will it count as one flight or three segments?

Don't mean to sound like a killjoy but Jesus you guys....12 segments and your trying to find a short cut. sometimes I think FT is becoming a way to hose the airlines. IF YOU CAN'T DO 12 then sorry, you lose.

Not to be a stick in the mud but, don't take advantage of a good thing.

PS it's halloween, and I think the same people that send their kids early and then lock their own door are akin to those forementioned.

Off this soapbox.........

gosh, sorry duplo john...

I'm pretty much booked up with either work, travel or family commitments for the rest of the year. I travel lots of long hauls, so the idea of doing 12 segments is a pain. However, it may be faster than six roundtrips. Based on the flexibility that AS and QX have offered us this past week, I'm happy to fly to keep these benefits.
