AS/AA Segment Bonus Question
Does anyone know if one may fly their AS segments under the Alaska Mileage Plan and fly their AA segments under the AAdvantage program? I have been told two different answers. AS says you must fly all under one program to get the bonus 27K. AA says no, you can fly under either number and in fact, could submit to both airlines and collect the 27K for each. That would be great. How do the airlines share flight information if you post under both programs? Any thoughts from the learned?

I don't know about AA, but I have had experience with NW ...
A number of years ago, a NW agent changed the frequent flier number for a round-trip from my AS number to my NW number without my knowing. Seems the NW system only allows one number.
When I found this out (and found out that it meant I wouldn't get MVP that year) I wrote both NW and AS and asked that it be changed - that I would get credit on AS and not NW (as I had originally requested).
Neither would permit this change after the fact, even though it wasn't my fault. And because it took them three months to make that decision, I missed out on MVP status that year on AS (even though I HAD flown the required number of segments)
