Latest tasman express smart saver fares. On some routes, tax is more than the OW fare!

Its probably all due to Virgin as Pacificblue starting flights into and out of Christchurch in early March
Both QF and Air NZ have lowered fares in particular to / from Christchurch, which happens to be Pacificblues NZ base

However Virgin has said AKL is not a priority at this stage. IIRC first flights are CHC only. WLG and HLZ to follow. DUD, ZQN and a couple others floating around as speculation.

Little EK adverting on this on the Tasman.
Would think EK having little effect on Air NZ & QF
