EWR - CDG L'Espace Premiere on 747 : seating

We've flown F on the 763 and the 777 but not on a 747-400, which is the equipment for the EWR-CDG flight we're looking into. I've checked out the seat diagram and can see its 2+2 (with one strange single seat in the middle in the rear row?) An FT search revealed that AF still had the old video systems (4-5 movies cycled not on-demand. Is that still true? Are these the oldest of AF long haul aircraft and what kind of shape are they in? If anyone has flown them lately on the same EWR-CDG leg I would especially like to hear from you. Thanks very much for any info you can give me.

You will be on a Classic AF flight. while it isn't as high tech or up to date as on a new 747 you should still have a great flight.

Good luck!
