Elite Bonus Miles on Blue & Red?

We are regular KLM flyers - top tier FFP. But they have recently revamped their Flying Dutchman FFP completely, and many people are unhappy with the changes - see opinions page of KLM on www.airlinequality.com for example.

We are not sure, and are investigating alternatives. Would be really grateful if Air France F+ regulars could help with the following questions:

1] Do Blue & Red members get elite bonus miles? If so, how much? Do they count as qualifying miles?

2] Do you earn miles on ALL fares with Skyteam carriers?

Thank you.

Welcome to the AF board !

Some answers :
- Blue and Red members DO get bonus miles
- for French members, it is 50% of the miles flown
- elite bonus miles do not count as qualifying miles
- please note that the bonus miles you get for flying Business Class or First Class count as qualifying miles
- you earn miles on MOST fares on Skyteam carriers. For AF, only B and G are excluded. As an example, you have a B fare when you fly with Club Med in an all-inclusive package

Regarding the elite bonus miles for Red members, it would be 100% for North American Frequence Plus members. I don't know the rule for non France based European members and you should check with your local AF or Frequence + office.

This is good to hear. Now I joined F+ while on business in Paris. My statement comes monthly from CDG does this mean I am a French member with a US adress or am I considered a US member??

You are considered a US member if your address is in the US (Even if, in reality, you live in France).

Thank you for the help, especially to JOUY31.

I did phone the local AF F+ office in London, but got a rather unhelpful person who told me that as I had no F+ activity, she could not give me any info!! I hope that is not a precursor to the service I might get if I joined F+!!
