While this may not be any more recent than "a few weeks back", I used it in mid-August and again the week after Labour Day, with no issues. Gonna try it again this Tuesday - we'll see.

I used it last on October 5. But use the machine closest to the wall, as on the other one sometimes the gate doesn't open. You'll have to work your way back out through the gates and around, and invariably get asked "Hey! Where are you going?"
No problem though, as all the inspectors seem to be aware of the problem gate.

At T2 yesterday, the machine nearest the wall appeared functional. The machine furthest from the wall had an "Out of Order" sign on it. I stick to the lines (there were none) as the machine could never read my palm after registration ... go figure

My card has expired. The last 3 times I went through,US immigration was closed for renewals,or the guy was going for lunch, when it was open.(could not wait for his return).
Good news that the gates are working,I will try again shortly.

All was well when I passed through October 30.

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travels sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.

Hmmm - "All was well when I passed through October 30" - Latitudes seems to have time travel powers denied the rest of us - didn't happen to notice the race results from Woodbine on October 29, did you? Would be useful information to have!!

It's working today; at least, one of them.
What kills me is this -- both the US and Cdn governments trumpet the use of technology as a way of keeping the border smooth. And yet, the reliability/uptime of these two machines must be approaching 50%. What do they run it on? Microsoft?

Can I get the form from the website beforehand? I cannot find the right form or the link for it.
Thanks.

You don't need your old card to re-apply. In any case, you would have to fill out the form again anyway. Here is the online link to the PDF: http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/f...iles/i-823.pdf
BTW, the enrollement center is under construction at T2.
