AC to introduce YUL/LAS

They've tried before and trying it again!

Effective October 26, 2003:

AC295 YUL LAS 20:30 23:00 320
AC296 LAS YUL 23:55 07:40+1 320

Operates on Thursdays and Sundays.

[That's one long flight on an A320 - westbound @ 5 hrs 30 mins!]

Are they using the Tango planes for those?

Yes.

The reverse has been happening too. Lately, AC has been scheduling mainline A319s on Tango routes such as YYZ/YOW on some days.

Not much fun either doing YYZ-BGI-YYZ on a A319!

Air Canada is doing a big expansion in LAS.
They will add YYC and YVR as well.

YUL never got off the ground, maybe this time it will.

I had a 767 on a YYZ-YOW flight a little while back...but I guess they were just moving the plane because it was empty and I don't think they fly that on that route regularly.
Edited to 767 not 737

You think that's bad - try MIA-YVR on an A319 which is simply nasty. Almost 7 hours!

On the other hand, BGI is getting the big bird on the winter sked. (763)

Probably just a repositioning flight for YOW/LHR. Or sometimes AC pulled the originally sked aircraft for an earlier flight, they will just use what's available.

Do they do it regularly though or is it just a coincidence that I had that aircraft?

AC used to schedule 767s regularly on YYZ/YOW. Although with most of the 762s retired, it's a rare occurence these days to see it on that route.

Holy s***! I never knew an A319 could go almost 7 hours. That can't be much fun for crew or passengers!

BGI used to have a 762 6X week from YYZ and one from YUL. 2-3 years ago they went to an A340 for high season and last year we had an A330 certain days for a while there and 763's on the rest. Than they started playing with the fares and the loads dropped off.

Back when Wardair was in business they flew a full DC10 or 747 to BGI on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. AC flew L1011's or 747's on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Ah..the good old days! LOL

Been there and done that. It was awful. I was tired (the flight left at 7ish am and I was out until 3 am the night before) and hungry for the whole flight because they served us once with just a tiny egg dish. There must be some sort of international convention on a limited food service like that.

Yes, bad. bad, bad. I did that in November and it would be enought to turn anyone off AC. maybe it was the length of the flight, but the seat pitch in Y seemed worse than WS! I think the flight was even weight-restricted?
