Super Crew on AC145 January 5th

In keeping with the recent trend we see forming here, I wanted to post my latest "great flight" experience.

Last night's crew was truly excellent. They were courteous, efficient, friendly without being obtrusive and generally made my flight an excellent one. I'm most happy to confirm with my own eyes what I've been reading about here - that service definately seems to be improving.

One thing I did notice, however, was that the FA who made the safety announcement (luggage stowed undeer seats or in overhead bins) managed to convey a tremendous sense of gravity to his words. While no one would argue that this information is trivial, repetition does tend to make it fade into the background of the pre-departure process. This FA delievered the message in a manner that made me feel that leaving a purse on the floor would have me removed from the aircraft!!! All in all a good thing, I think. These procedures are there for a reason, and it must drive the FA's nuts to see so many pax ignore them.

Great to hear!

The YYZ MLL agent that just greeted me was very upbeat. Thanked me for flying AC as well.

Your purse, Lee? Is Lee M or F?

Last time I checked, M.

I was trying to think of the smallest object that would likely be left on the floor. Briefcase? Too big. Shopping Bag? Nah. Purse? Just right.

My return flight back to Toronto on Tuesday was, if anything, even better. I sure wish the Service Excellence certificates program would be brought back. The effort that the in-flight crews are making to deliver great service deserves more than just a "Thanks for the excellent service tonight" on the way out the door.

A quick handwritten note addressed to the entire crew (maybe with your business card) given to the purser will make the crew very happy. That'll make their day - being told they did a wonderful job and you walk away feeling like a happy customer.
