2001 Q miles survey
It's always interesting to do one of these surveys as it's getting close to year end,
- What is your Q miles for the year so far?
- What is your expected Q miles for 2001?
- Will you retain the same status, drop down or move up?
- Most disappointing thing about Aeroplan so far this year and best thing that Aeroplan has done so far this year.

--- best? got upgraded twice, me and three in family, YYZ-YHZ and back, on bargain basement L fares.
-- worst? Slow and steady disintegration in service, and the nickle and diming attitude

For me:
- At 137K now
- Probably finish with about 160K-180K depending on whether I'll make 1 or 2 more HKG trip.
- Same Status
- Best thing - Q miles promotion and upgrade at time of booking. Worst thing - Really can't think of any, probably haven't gotten a comp upgrade yet!

- What is your Q miles for the year so far?
80,000 - What is your expected Q miles for 2001?
I would have made 100,000 easily and achieved SE, but my company has put the brakes on travel and I might have to get the last 10,000 on my own - Will you retain the same status, drop down or move up?
Since I didn't start Q miles until end of April I should make SE next year - Most disappointing thing about Aeroplan so far this year and best thing that Aeroplan has done so far this year.
It is all new to me so everything is great!!! Next year I won't be so glassy eyed and will start to find the cracks.
Best part is *G so that I can sit in the Senator lounge in Frankfurt. Much better than standing in the concourse.

- current Q: 102K
- expected Q: 107K
- status: maintain*
- best: upgrades at time of booking for SE
- worst: inconsistent service from SE desk
* 02 will likley be my last year as SE for a while as I changed jobs this year and will be doing much less travelling. I have been EXP/SE since 98 - maybe I will have to start using my DC MLC card for lounge access in 03!

What is your Q miles for the year so far?
- 46,000 miles
What is your expected Q miles for 2001?
- 51,000 miles
Will you retain the same status, drop down or move up?
- Retain AC*E
Most disappointing thing about Aeroplan so far this year and best thing that Aeroplan has done so far this year.
- can't answer.. I am generally happy with AP. The airline itself however could use some work.

-35,075 miles
-35,075 miles. I was aiming for 50-70K, but my Nov and Dec plans were moved back to Jan and Mar 2002.
-Status will remain the same AC*E
-The best this year was probably the 2 transpac operational upgrades. The worst thing was the inconsistent phone agents. Overall I am happy with Aeroplan and how I get treated as AC*E.

I have roughly 45,000 YTD with Aeroplan....I also did 13,000 with Skyteam.
My year will finish at this level since I just used a reward ticket, and I will use another reward ticket on my New Year's trip which is in 2 months.
I'll stay as an Elite/Star Gold.
The worst thing that Aeroplan has done to me this year never happened....I have no complaints.
I don't want to publish the best thing as AC might read about it.

So far 91,000
Expected: 122,000
SE this year/ SE next year
Best this year - the various promos, a few operational upgrades
Worst - attitude of the odd flight attendant
But hey, I definitely have a choice of carriers, so I guess I can't grouse too much!
Sing Along - just curious, what do you do? That's serious milage...
