HNL -> SYD

For those who care, the S/E desk informs me that fares and schedules will be available as of March 26th for this route. Also on that date Canadian will start code sharing the route with Qantas. On July 3rd, Canadian (not AC) will start operating it, but equipment has yet to be determined.

I think they'll most likely use the 767 as they do not have enought 747 or enough demand to fill them.

QF has been flying a 747-200/300 on this route. Departure is approximately 1:00 from HNL local time which makes easy inbound connection from QF 3098, a CP codeshare on 767-300 equipment.

Story in today's G&M posits that QF have the most to loose with CP's withdrawal from OW. They are stuck with no easy means of getting people from HNL to Canada. They are balking at the cost of operating to YVR/YYZ.

Paper version only, I am afraid. Our office gets several subscriptions, so I get to read it by lunch time.

I was planning some award travel at CPlus today. They confirmed that it'll be 767-300 equipment after the QF codeshare ends.

QF could of course connect their passengers through LAX.
