Holiday Cheer for some FTD brings back United 20 Miles per dollar spent

For those that are interested in earning United miles
FTD is back with some good holiday cheer 20 miles per dollar spent.
There is also an offer for American I have seen at 15 mpd
Last year was a sweetheart deal with
FTD offering between 20 and 30 MPD
Tis The season
Happy Holidays and many more miles !

The last two times that I used FTD, they screwed me and failed to make a delivery. One was for Valentine's Day and the other was for Mother's Day. No matter how many miles they offer, it isn't worth the aggravation and disappointment.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience.
Been there myself though not with FTD
I have done over 15 orders in the past and have been extremely satisfied.
High quality of flowers and on time delivery.
The FTD website was a pleasure to use, communicated well and had great options. The miles have been very rewarding too
With that said the other floral 1-800 companies have been very frustrating to me with a number of missed aborted/botched deliveries. A few went smoothly here and there
Flowers in some cases were left at the wrong adress and then the driver forgot where they left them.
I believe the problem has more to do with who the driver is and which shop is filling the order and the delivery procedures themselves.
All of these services involves some minor risk to some degree .Even when you call directly. If its important I keep on top of them every step of the way.
I find most of them 1 -800 flower companies responsible and able to solve or
remedy the situation to my satisfaction each and every time.
I also communicate exactly what my expectations are before the delivery and get it documented to cut down on errors. That way they have no excuse if they mess up but to do the right thing.

Is this possibly a targeted promotion? I couldn't find anything on their website. I used a similar promotion 2 or 3 years ago, very nice. I did have the day late delivery experience on one order, however.

On the topic of reliable florists: I have never had a problem with proflowers.com. They seem to have some of the lowest prices, and the flowers last longer than those from most other companies.

I don't know if it was here or in OMNI, but we had a long discussion about FTD.com, 1800flowers.com, proflowers.com, etc. The short version: FTD is a network that uses local florists, so if you get crappy flowers it's because of one particular florist.

Even if miles weren't involved, I'd probably use FTD for everything. Their site is easy to use, and I can place an order in the morning and have flowers show up a couple of hours later. I have never had a quality issue with our local florists.

On the flip side, I used 1800flowers.com once for Valentine's Day and got poor quality roses. My wife nearly kicked my *** for that one: she's AA Platinum and gets the same promo emails that I do, so she knew exactly why I had used 1800flowers.com instead of FTD and a local florist! (Extra miles for Plats at that time. )

Actually in a way most of them use local florists.
Even the ones that have company owned stores
On my most recent order FTD is shipping
the flowers and what appears to be a high quality attractive vase fed ex
That includes tax 1000 miles at 49.95 t 9.95 for the shipping
I consider that a very fair deal

Hey, thanks for the heads-up on this. The world's best moms will have nice centerpieces for Christmas, partially making up for us skipping out to London over the holidays, and we bank 2000 miles on top of the miles for the trip.

use FTD about 5 times a year, never a problem with correct amount of miles posting or the flowers arriving.
