mypoints vacationmiles award

Like many of you out there, I'm hoping to get the 20000points for 25000 vacationmile award by the end of this year; so that I can start fresh next year for another 25000 vacationmiles.

I'm about a few 1000 points away from this award. Since there is only 2 more months to go this year, I'd like to know how long it takes for the redemption process.

Anybody out there that already redeemed for vacationmile award, please comment!!!

How early should I redeem for the award in order to get 25000 vacationmiles by the end of this century. May be by end of november?

Your feedback would help all those who are shooting for those american AAdvantage miles.

thanks

Just FYI -- I redeemed my points on 10/2 and have not received anything yet. I emailed them twice and received no response.

My husband's certificate arrived within two weeks of requesting it.

I requested mine about three weeks ago and have not received it. The official MyPoints line is that it takes 4-6 weeks.

I've already posted this before - it took my brother over 2 months. Maybe if you fax them the certificate before the end of the year they may treat it as this year's allotment, but check with them.

I sent in the request for 5000 miles and received the VacationMiles certificate approximately 2 weeks after that. I then mailed the certificate to VacationMiles to claim the 5000 AA miles. They told me it will take 3-9 weeks for AA to post the miles.
