AC points from UA website booking?
Hi all,
I have booked a UA flight that is code-shared with Air Canada from BOS-YVR. The flight was booked on United's website (since it was cheaper than on AC's site).
Can I recieve AC qualifying points by giving the gate agent my Aeroplan #? I wonder if I will still recieve the bonus United points on my United account.
Thanks in advance,
Vancouverite

You should be able to change the FF program to which your flight miles will go at check-in, though this poses problems for many UA agents. As for the booking bonus, interesting question. These will only be UA miles, and certainly would not show up in your Aeroplan account even if the flight did. At the same time, a requirement for getting the booking bonus may be having the flights credited to Mileage Plus. You might want to call UA about that.

Couple weeks ago, I asked the UA tech guys why their website doesn't allow me to enter a FF number other than UA's. They said that if I wanted to put the points into my AC account, leave the Mileage Plus entry blank and then call reservation before the flight and have them enter the AC AP number.
