YYZ Snafu

The ILS is being taken off line at YYZ from 04 August to 26 August.

This means that in low visibility conditions (haze, rain, cloud, etc.) there are going to be significant delays, ground stops, etc.

My family and I departed YYZ yesterday on 2 separate flights at 12:00 and 14:00. No delays. Weather was overcast to start, and broken cloud later.

The Delays have been minor thus far.....I wouldn't worry too much just give yourself enough time to check in your baggage and make the flight. (I would suggest at least an hour before departure not including waiting in line)

I haven't seen anything more than 15 minutes from a gatehold to the actual push.....couldn't tell you what the actual taxi time is though. We have been too busy to notice.

Hope this helps your travel plans....

Regards YYZAC

Just keep in mind that in case of poor visibility when the ceiling is too low for a visual approach that could mean no landing at all in YYZ. It could look more like a big mess than only delays.

Cross your fingers everybody... and hope for nice and clear weather until the ILS is back...
