airports jobs with benefits
hello, i am a student from vancouver, british columbia. I may be possibly coming into the opportunity to work at an airport in some capacity through a school job program i am taking.
My pay is being subsidized through the school and it isnt much, so there is even more of a chance of getting in to a job at YVR. Anyway, my question is, does anyone here have personal experience or know of any somewhat entry level open to the public positions at airports that can eventually lead to discount flight benefits or even free stand-by flights?
I realize that i'm pretty sure you have to be an official employee or union and it is hard to get benefits, but i would like to try because i traveling is my passion and i envy all these stories i hear about free flights through people who work at the airport ;(
Anyone know a good place to try to apply and then possibly squeeze myself in? i will probably be working there for at least 8 months so maybe if i use my time well who knows. Anyway sorry for long post, any response much appreciated, cheers

Hi Pete321 and welcome to FlyerTalk!
The "free travel" you speak of is not generally available to airport employees, but to employees of the actual airlines.
The best advice would be to check the websites of the airlines that utilize YVR and check the employment opportunities sections.
Because this is not miles or points related, I'm going to move it over to TravelBuzz!
