Canadian Charters Offer FF Points!!!???
For those of us living in Canada, the choices for getting ff miles are shrinking, at least
temporarily, with the coming loss of CPlus to
AC. But as long as CPlus lingers, there's a way to get some CPlus points when flying on a
charter from Canada. Air Transat-- not to be confused with the sked AirTrans in the States, offers charters from most Cdn. cities
to Europe, Florida, the Caribbean, Vegas. If
you book the flight through a travel agent up
here, using their subsidiary-"World of Vacations"--a tour packager, you can still get 1500 CPlus points per air and hotel package. Not much, but better than nothing,
and this will probably only last until AC closes out the CPlus program. We've flown
AT many times when we can't get decent fares from AC, CP, or AA, and found that, except for the cramped seating that comes with the lower fare, their meals, service and reliability are fine. And no, I don't work for Transat-- just a suggestion to help get
ff miles when flying a charter in Canada. I suggested to Transat that they start their own FF program--haven't heard back yet. Someone up here has to keep AC from completely dominating the skies in Canada,
competition is important to help keep prices
reasonable.
