UA Bankruptcy belongs in MilesBuzz

Is there any other news right now that is more important to ALL frequent fliers? UA Bankruptcy affects all fliers, the entire airline industry, we all have an interest in it. I cannot understand why the moderator decided to limit this subject to United site only. There are many other subjects with reference to one airline (viz discussion of DL proposed meeting and changes above), which are left in MilesBuzz. Do you agree?

Right now, there are at least 10 bankruptcy related threads in the UA forum, and at least another six threads scattered throughout FT-land. What's wrong with redundancy and wasting time clicking on the same topic in 20 different places?

WS Air Bankruptcy meant absolutly nothing to me. Continential's, TWA's, Eastern, all didn't mean a thing to me, I usually don't fly them.

Something airline specific actually belongs in that airline's thread. If it's that important to people, they will go to the United forum to look at it, but it has nothing to do with miles and doesn't belong here.

The moderators have done a great job of keeping things on target here, and while I don't always agree with them (though it's rare I don't anymore), in the end it makes for a better place if everything is where it belongs.

This is a big story, I agree. However every FT user is quite aware of the BK. Adding new threads in MilesBuzz will not help to keep the subject organized. Please continue to get your UA news in the United and News boards.

Craig,

Your ratioonale for moderating completely escapes me. A thread on Delta medallion staus stays on MilesBuzz for days, but the greatest airline bankruptcy ever, which will certainly have tremendous impact upon all FF programs is inconsequential?????

This used to be the most interesting and exciting and useful forum here. It is this forum which is rapidly becoming inconsequential. The least you could do is move it from the top of the list.

Just because something isn't on the top of the page, in the first column doesn't make it any less consequential then something where it belongs, in the United Airline Forum.

The Delta Mediallian Program information is about miles. It is about nothing but miles. The United bankruptcy isn't about miles in any way, shape, or form. It has virtually nothing to do with Frequent Flyer Programs, I think you are way over estimating it's importance to the frequent flyer miles side of things.

Craig and Randy,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIRELESS AND SOMETIMES THANKLESS EFFORTS!

If I want to know anything about the UA situation, I know I can find it in the UA forum.

Amen! UA BK is a UA matter and comments belongs on that board.

I have over 100K of MP miles and it is at the UA board that I will look for information about their life expectancy.

Chapter 11 filings aren't MilesBuzz-worthy because they don't affect mileage programs whatsoever.

Chapter 7 filings...eek...that's another story. Those CAN affect mileage programs, and they could make my 166,000 Dividend Miles vaporize pretty quickly. But United is a long way away from Ch.7.

"In The News" most certainly, and UA Forum of course. As nothing whatever happened to my MILES due to this I am unclear why this thread is still here?

With the way things are going I suggest we create a new forum called "Airlines in Bankruptcy" Put it right at the top of all the forums. Me thinks this topic is going to expand in the not so distant future.

I suggest still another new forum: "Posts That Can't Possiby Get Blasted by the Thread Police."

I think you guys have too much time on your hands. How about spending it finding new ways to earn miles, which you could share with everyone here?

I too believe this should be moved...so????

This is important, so let's post it in the wrong category, just because it is first...logic escapes me.

Thanks Craig
