BEST VISA AIRLINE CARD

As promised heres goes:
there are 2 options;
1) you apply for a classic card get 1 yr free and 5000 miles 1st use, then after you get your 1st statement and pay it call back and request it be upgraded to a platinum card with no annual fee ever!
2) call the same # and request a platinum card w/o an annual fee ever get your 5000 miles.
I requested and got the upgrade before I got my 1st statement so I got the 5000 miles bonus once maybe by following the 1st way you'll get the bonus 2x I don't know, but I got the 5000 miles on the newer acct # credited,while it showed up on the 1st acct statement it didnt get credited on that statement it was reversed cause of the new acct #.

The acct is for a BRITISH AIRWAYS VISA issued by First USA tel#:1-800-577-0633.Remember the miles can be cashed in for a tkt or joint tkt on any ONEWORLD member(AA not good over the Atlantic but can get a domestic tkt among many others). Make sure you ask for the card with NO ANNUAL FEE ever. A rep. offered it to me when I wanted to upgrade to a card w/CDW,every time I called after the reps were amazed that it was a no fee ever and still earned miles.
Yes ones limited to certain airlines but IMHO it sure beats having to order tkts 2 or 3 weeks in adv and having to keep the price of the tkt below X $$. Down side capacity controls but I never had a prob w/BA as long as I was flex.
Hope that it was worth the wait,but I wanted to make sure that a deluge wouldn't get my cancelled.

I called, & they said they no longer offer that card. I guess you just have to try different customer service reps.

Plus $2 per mile isn't very attractive.
=========
BUT!!!>>>>>>>>

I have the First USA World card. $50/year.

Yes, I know, they don't allow mileage accruing abilities for a specific airline, BUT it has NO BLACKOUT dates, AND they will pay for a ticket AT ANY PRICE, ON ANY AIRLINE when you use your points.

I paid for a cross country flight for the holidays last year. All prices on Expedia & Travelocity were $760+.

Well, the folks at First USA bought that ticket!!! All it cost me was 24,000 points.

I know that other points cards put $$$ caps, but not these guys! The $50 was definitely worth it.

P.S.>>>>>They seem to not be offering the card on their website. You have to call in.

PSS>>>>>First USA is NOT the greatest bank in the world. Disputes take a long time to work out--& you can have titanic clashes with them. This could make any benefits of the card not worth it.....almost. But heck, I would have had to pay $760 last year!!! I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

They never mentioned that it was $2 per mile,I thought it was 1 to 1, as the previous card was and like it was last year when I had the Platinum card free for a year. 1 for $2 has to go.THANKS. I guess the old saying is still valid 'if it sounds to good to be true,beware'.
Ill call them later on.
