Are we all alone?

Just a curiosity on my part:

Has any representative of the airlines or hotels participated (or been invited to participate) in any of these forums?

It would seem that the coments from frequent customers would be of interest to them. Replying to questions would be a bonus, but I could see where it would be problematic.

Maybe they're just lurking out there. Or maybe, we all alone in obscurity.

Any insights or opinions?

Dave

They are probably lurking. And that's probably the best thing to do. It's been my experience on other boards, that things can get pretty out of hand (re:the Nancys, Robertos and Arturos and just plain "pi**ing matches"), and situations can quickly develop to where it can be a no-win situation for a Company, and it can come out looking worse than it went in...in a very public forum! Most companies that I know have been advised by their public relations departments/firms to monitor/lurk only in these forums to keep an eye on what's going on in the market, but to respond only when someone communicates directly with them privatly.

I have sent United Airlines e-mails about this forum. I specificaly told them about how great of a CS resource this is even with the nonsense. I never got any replies (little surprise). If we bug them enough they will listen.

This is why only our 'friends' ever do anything that the airlines might disapprove of... we are all squeaky clean ffs!

Check the Hyatt thread - there is a Hyatt rep - Robert somebody I think - who, if he is to be believed, is paying attention and was able to answer some questions and cleared up some bad information.

That's right, EMD. RWeber first appeared on the Buzz (see the "Sounding Board: Service versus Mileage" thread).
