Viajero,
Looks like you are right. I overlooked the fact that the companion ticket is not offered with the second camera. I only noticed that it offered the 500 miles.
Good catch. Thanks

It looks like the companion ticket is not necessarily on the same airline that you get to choose for the miles. Has anybody made this purchase? What is the fine print of the companion ticket, especially who is the "major airline"?

The companion ticket deal is an olympus promo and to me did not seem to be worth much (if anything). The travel agency doing the promotion books your flights (they choose airlines, etc.) and you have to pay a high minimum for the purchased ticket based upon miles flown. Trips of 500 to 750 miles have min fares of between 339 and 399 (Depending on low or high season). Min fares for the purchased ticket of 1400 or more miles are 499 to 569 depending on season.
When you concider that these are minimum fares, they select airline, flights, routing, and that you have A HUGE AMOUNT of additional restrictions, I find it hard to see any value at all in this.
If you got your wife a nice camera at a decent price and did not waste your time with these types of travel agencies I think you are better off.

I literally just got my wife a new camera yesterday!
