Credit Cards that Give Points for Balance Transfers
Does anyone know where I can find a list of credit cards that give points or rewards for balance transfers?

Webflyer says for HiltonHonors Program: There are 13 airlines with which HHonors
members can earn miles during their business-rate stays. Regular earnings are 500 miles per stay with each airline, including: Air
Canada, Alaska, America West, American, British Airways, Continental, Delta, Mexicana (1,000 kms), Midwest Express,
Northwest, TWA, United and USAir. Six of these airlines also participate in the HHonors Reward Exchange program, where members can exchange HHonors points for airline miles and miles for points with participating partners. American Express Membership Rewards and Diners Club Club Rewards also participate. For 5,000 airline miles, receive 10,000 HHonors points. Membership Rewards points can be exchanged at a rate of 1,000 for 1,300 HHonors points. Club Rewards points can be exchanged on a one-to-one ratio.

Southwest Airlines is tied in with FirstUSA and gives credit for balance transfers. You get 2 segment credits for getting the credit card and up to 5 more segments for each $1,000 transferred. If you happen to have $5,000 in credit card debt (yikes!) and do this along with signing up with MCI and getting another 2 segments, this will give you more than half the credits needed (9 out of 16) towards a free ticket to such exotic Southwest destinations as Midland, TX and Spokane, WA!

Does the SouthWest credit card charge you anything extra for the balance transfers?

Yes, a Southwest Visa from First USA Bank in Wilmington DE allows up to five lifetime Rapid Rewards credits for balance transfers (ie, up to $5,000). I recently received an offer by mail from Citibank promising American AAdvantage miles for balance transfers (see my posting under the American Airlines board). Since I haven't heard from them yet about my application, I can't confirm the details of that offer. I'll post an update here when I do.
