Latin Pass - Partner Airlines Registration

Since Latin Pass has so abruptly limited eligibility for the 500K and 1M programs to existing LP members and ff members of the LP participating airlines, does anyone know if membership in a Latin Pass "partner" airline ...USAirways, KLM ect. will qualify you?

Quote from Latin Pass "Members enrolled in LatinPass or in any of the LatinPass Member Airlines participating programs from March 20th, 2000 or after will not be eligible for this promotion". I believe the key words are "member Airlines". The partners are not member airlines so KLM, TWA, etc, would be excluded. You have brought up an interesting question however because COPA who is a member airline uses Continentals One Pass program as its frequent flyer program. Would members of One Pass prior to March 20th be eligable.

Copa Airlines has drawn a fine line between LatinPass miles and onepass miles. It is true that Copa's FF mile program is onepass by default, however when you fly on Copa you must decide if the miles earned will be credited to Onepass or LatinPass. Copa has been quite clear that they will only accept LatinPass miles for copa metal flights.

Hmmm, you could make the argument that you are still a member of a latinpass member airline ff program but have the restriction states "Members enrolled in LatinPass or in any of the LatinPass MemberAirlines participating programs from March 20th, 2000 or after will not be eligible for this promotion" Since I was a member of Copa's/Continental's Onepass, admittedly one who has never flown Copa...would I not then qualify for the promotion? Kind of a backdoor but it might work.

Well looks like i answered my own question...called Latinpass and they stated that it only applies to members "participating programs" as does the website. And even though Copa is a member airline...according to LP its ff program (onepass) is not. Looks like they made **** sure there wouldn't be any loopholes this time around

A metal flight is a flight marketed and operated by that airline. With all of the alliance and codeshares that go on these days you do not always know what airline you will be flying on.
