Best mileage deals of the year- as Randy sees it!

With the year-end holidays comes the annual list of the best and worst of the year. I thought I’d start this week by listing the best bonuses of the year. Some were well known, some were elusive, but all of them earned you plenty of miles and points if you were among those paying attention.

Some great deals in there. I suspect the Frecuenta Mexicana/Hilton deal was better for most here, as it gave a minimum 15,000 HHilton points for nothing, other than logging onto Freceunta, and signing up a Hilton account:

American AAdvantage and Continental OnePass members, stay three times through December 15, 2000 for a minimum of two nights at participating Fiesta Americana and Fiesta Inn hotels in Mexico and earn 20,000 miles. Up to 60,000 miles can be earned for nine stays. What can I say; I just can’t resist 60,000 miles for sleeping around.

The UA/Hilton "Mileage Nights" was a far better deal for UA regular fliers, than anything on Randy's list, and I personally know of UA flyers who got over 300,000 HHonors points for doing absoutely nothing, and never staying at one Hilton to get them and not affecting their MP balance in any way. In essence 300,000 free points for doing nothing extra except phoning an 800 number once!

Yes, Glen, but Latin Pass is on this list and it was pretty darn good! Remember also that you did have to fly on UA to get those miles, right?

Randy has mentioned some really good deals, and it is pointless to argue otherwise.

I suspect that all of these deals have been mentioned in FT, so the best way to capture the deals is to tune into FT.
