Get $50 bonus plus 1000 American Advantage Miles for a BankDirect Account

Check this out. Bank Direct offers American Airline Miles - 1000 miles when you open an acct, 1000 miles for Payroll deposit, 100 miles per $1000 checking balance, etc.
You can open the account for just $100.
Go here for details - http://www.bankdirect.com
To get an extra $50. Sign up via Gomez.com at http://www.gomez.com/deals/profile.c...Vendor_id=5001
So this way you get the 1000 miles and $50 too.

<<BankDirect would like to announce some exciting news!

The BankDirect American Airlines AAdvantage Program has arrived! This means
that you can start earning AAdvantage miles by banking with us! All you have
to do is open one of our new Mileage accounts. BankDirect offers these new
Mileage accounts in addition to our current high interest rate accounts.

You can earn 1000 miles just for opening and funding a new Mileage Checking
or Mileage MMA, plus another 1000 miles for signing up for payroll direct
deposit into a Mileage account, and 2000 miles for using BankDirect's bill
pay service for 12 months from a Mileage Checking account. In addition, you
will earn AAdvantage miles for maintaining account balances: 100 miles for
every $1000 maintained per month in a Mileage Checking Account; 50 miles per
month for every $1000 maintained per month in a Mileage MMA.

You can also earn miles on any Mileage CD purchase. You have the opportunity
to earn a mile per dollar on a 2-year Mileage CD: for example, if you
purchase a $50,000 2-year Mileage CD, you will earn 50,000 miles right
away.* You can also earn 500 miles for every $1000 spent on a 1-year Mileage
CD, and 250 miles for every $1000 spent on a 6-month Mileage CD.

You will need an AAdvantage account number to apply for or convert to a
Mileage account. To become a member of the American Airlines AAdvantage
program and immediately receive an AAdvantage account number, go to http://www.aa.com/aadvantage.

To open a new account that gets you a $50 bonus , go to http://www.gomez.com/deals/profile.c...Vendor_id=5001

I quickly checked the rates this bank is offering on their MMA's and they are at least .015% LOWER than their competitors. On a $10,000 deposit you are "paying" in lost interest over .02/mile. I suspect their other products are similar.

As for other products, the checking account does not cost me anything so ...

Has anyone actually taken advantage of both the $50 Gomez offer and the American miles offer? It seems like they would have rule about taking advantage of both. BTW - they're now offering 5000 miles when you sign up for Direct Deposit.

I signed up through Gomez and received the miles and the $50, although Gomez or Bank Direct somehow "lost" my initial sign-up. Gomez had no problem finding it and the $$ were credited. I also signed up for the 5000 mile direct deposit bonus.

The interest rates on the mileage accounts are terrible, so every two weeks after my pay is deposited I move all the money into my primary account (interest earning of course). This is done electronically so the money never sits at Bank Direct for more than a few days.

Well, I just signed for the Gomez $50 and AA 1000 miles. I also got 500 AA credit card miles by using the $500 maximum allowed credit card deposit. So if it all works, I'll get 1,500 American miles and $50 after 3 months. Thanks.

I had signed up for this as well. I was told that the miles take 8 weeks to post. Also they have changed the bonus for direct deposit to 5K AA miles.

Call me provincial, but while I'd love to get the miles, I'm just a touch leery of actually committing to direct deposit with a far away internet bank!

Though I know it's probably NOT a concern for most!

Seems there's different requirements out there. According to Gomez you get the $50 after 3 months but no mention about the miles.
When I went to BD's site it stated that the mileage checking needed to be open for 6 months, and that amounts under $5000 earns 0%!!!
So I went with the moneymkt where at least its 2.96%,nor any mention of 6 months so I assume its ok to close it afyer 3 months when I get the $50.Added bonus you get an ATM card so you can withdraw it any where probably over 2 days since most have $400 as the max per 24 hrs. Direct deposit doesn't work for me.

the link for BD-AAis the following:

For direct deposit if you are worried just have some minimal amount, no the entire check deposited. My local bank gives free checking if you have your full paycheck deposited, but they have no of way knowing if it's the full check or not so I split it between all my accounts with this bank so they are free. Then as soon as the money gets there, it's transfered to the internet bank I use for all the free stuff they offer. Local to deposit checks, and internet for the rest.
