Using your American Express Air Miles?
I am about to sign up for the American Express Air miles card, and I am trying to figure out if it is worth it.
It would take me forever to collect the right amount of miles on this card for me to get a flight for free using this card...
Also how does one go about using their AIR MILES from american exchange to get a free or discounted flight? Can this be done at any travel office??
Thanks

You phone airmiles or use the web to make a booking.
1. You must give at least 14 days notice.
2. They pressure you to take insurance.
3. The taxes kill.
4. Once you agree to an itinerary you are absolutely locked in and can't even change it during the initial phone call.
In 4 or 5 years I earned enough Airmiles for 2 domestic flights with a bunch left over for toasters. In 4 years with an airline visa (and lots of miles from flying) I earned 7 international flights including two from NA to Australia. Kinda hard to stay interested in Airmiles.

Hi Optima,
This question would be better suited in the American Express forum under Credit Cards on the main FLyerTalk Miles page.
I'm going to move it there now.
