Starwood point transfers... want to consolidate

I read a bunch of threads about the Starwood Optima card. I don't have a Starwood account right now, but I have no objection to opening one or any other account for that matter if it will help me achieve the following somehow...

I've got miles floating around in four different accounts, as I'm sure you all do. I want to consolidate, starting with my NW account. Is it possible to open an account somehow and transfer those NW miles through a middle step into AA, UA or DL? Anybody know how or if this works?? Thanks!

There are a variety of sources, including HHonor and Diner's Club, which allows you to transfer miles between programs. Be aware that there's often a large amt. of loss when you do so.

For specifics, do a search on each of the individual airline forums for the best ratio.
