Good News about *wood to QF - BA Concorde

Thought I'd share my news on this story.

I always wanted to do Concorde and now with the Starwood deal am able to do so. I wanted to travel at the end of May. This is difficult because the rules say that you cannot book travel until the points are in the account - which can take up to four weeks. I was concerned that if I needed to wait four weeks the availability would not be there when I needed it. I origianlly called QF in MEL and asked if I give them proof that the point transfer has been initiated will they allow ther booking and of course hold off ticketing until points arrive? The answer was No but call the U.S. office when they are open and they may do it.

So I call the TUS office for QF and ask the agent and she automatically answered no - I mentioned the instructions I received from the MEL office and she said let me ask the supervisor. 5 minutes later I had my seats!! They also said it was not necessary to send in the proof of transfer. EXCELLENT!

Speaking of the transfer - I callled *wood and got the Ireland office and spoke with Moustaphe. He said he had been doing this a couple of times already that day! (all FT'ers I'm sure) He said the easiest way to do it is that he would transfer the 20k that afternoon and then do the 32500 the next day without me having to call back. I asked if he could provide me with a fax or e-mail that I could use as proof with QF (see above) and he said no problem and I received the fax the next day!

All in all a very pleasant FF experience. Thanks to whoever pointed out this award possibility.

For the record I am flying BA 296 ORD - LHR on May 31 returning BA 1 LHR -JFK on June 2. Wanted to the subsonic over to enjoy that.

No, I could not book the return to ORD as BA has no service JFK - ORD and for 125,000 you cannot mix carriers.

I agree with you 1000% about GoldPoints-- although to be technical about it, nobody (I'm assuming) has actually had the points from the InsideFlyer deal post to their SPG account, I assume?

Not that I have any doubt that they will-- and I have ordered an embarrassingly large number of InsideFlyer subscriptions myself-- just though it was worth pointing out.

This success on the QT front is excellent news. I'll be in exactly the same boat in a few days.

I am quite relieved to hear that this is working. I'm not doing it on a large scale; however, I probably would have had a few dozen people sending me hate mail if it didn't work .

Edited to add that I just checked my *wood account, and the 2500 points from my 1 subscription ordered on 3/29 just posted today.

Edited once more to correct the date. This May, I will be receiving a piece of paper that says I have a kollege edumacation, and even I know that the only month with 39 days is October .

Kudos to both parties...if the folks at InsideFlyer didn't process transactions as quickly as they do, & transfer points as frequently as they do, -&- Starwood didn't post as rapidly as they do after receiving points submittals, we wouldn't stand a chance of seeing this kind of turnaround time.

Hats off to the folks at InsideFlyer & Starwood!

Oh, how different the mileage- & points-earning universe would be if all affiliated partner teams were comprised of parties which understood the importance of expeditiously processing transactions, & delivering a promised perk in a timely fashion.

From a customer service standpoint, this is one more thing that says, "we care", let alone, "we deliver".

InsideFlyer & Starwood, please know that we appreciate your efforts in delivering this form of customer service.
