We arrive from europe at JFK but our connection starts from LGA (on the next day). We stay the night at the Ramada Plaza JFK. This hotel has a free shuttle to JFK. Is there any public transportation from JFK to LGA. If no, how much is the taxi fare for this route?

There are shuttle vans going from JFK to LGA (per person charge). Taxi will cost +/-$20.

Ask the hotel. The Radisson JFK has a free shuttle to LGA but only about twice a day and only early am (like 6 am and 7 am).

Public transportation from JFK to LGA is possible, using the subway and buses. Per-person cost would be $1.50 with a Metrocard. However, if you're not familiar with how to do it, you shouldn't even try. It's complicated, and the consequences of getting lost (missing your flight) are serious enough to not take the risk. I learned of the Princeton Airliner from JFK to EWR from that website. The only time I used them, they didn't come to pick me up. They said they did, but I waited at the exact spot they said to wait and no cigar. I had to take an expensive cab to catch a connecting flight.

No. The taxi fare is fixed at $35 from JFK to any point in Manhattan, but LGA is in Queens. Because of AirTrain construction, traffic around JFK is really, really bad most of the time. It takes forever to go north on the Van Wyck Expressway.

You will be better off staying the night at a hotel next to LGA rather than the Ramada at JFK. Do not deal with the traffic from JFK on your day of departure from LGA.

Unless money is an issue, take a taxi from JFK directly to the hotel at LGA, and the hotel van to your airline's terminal the next day. It will be a major pain to take a bus and then wait to be picked up by the hotel's van at the LGA. To the best of my knowledge, the bus from JFK does not drop you off at hotels. The taxi will cost you $8-$10 dollars more and after a long flight from Europe, you don't have to spend more time waiting for a bus to get you to your connection.

If Money is an issue, take the bus to the airport, then the hotel's shuttle from LGA to the hotel.

Unless you have a pretty fast turnaround, you should come into Manhattan for a bit. It's sad to think of you sitting out in a hotel in Queens with the whole city so close.

That's a really good idea. If you are able to spend some time in Manhattan, then public transportation becomes a practical option. The subway from JFK to anywhere on the west side (A train) is easy as pie. You can't go wrong. Then, when you are ready, grab an E train on 53rd Street to Roosevelt Avenue in Queens, where you pick up a free transfer to the LGA bus (usually Q33, but Q47 to the Marine Terminal). The only problem with this plan is you have to stash your luggage somewhere while you wander around. I believe that Penn Station and the Port Authority bus terminal, both stops on the A train, should have baggage storage, but I can't speak from personal experience.

I absolutely concur with Bruce and SFJoe! See Manhattan if you can!

Actually, there is construction work being done on the A line on weekends. What this means is, you take the free shuttle bus to the Howard Beach station, where you have to change to the (free) MTA bus which takes you to the Rockaway Blvd station where you then can take the A train. It's still cheap, but takes at least an extra 45 minutes.
I second rssrsvp's suggestion. Take a cab from JFK to your hotel near LGA. You should try to see something of NYC if you have the time. Your hotel near LGA could keep your luggage for you while you see the sights. And public transport is also easy from LGA. There is the M60 bus($1.50), from which you can transfer to practically all the subway lines(N,6,1,2,3) at no extra cost). It stops at all the terminals at the same place the Q33 & the Q48 do(basically at the center of the loading area).

You need a MetroCard to use the free bus-to-subway transfer. Otherwise, pay $1.00 cash off-peak or $1.50 peak and then $1.50 for the subway. Also, you can get on the Q33 or Q47 outside the hotels without having to go to LGA first. They go to the 74th St/Roosevelt Ave subway station.
