Doc, I've registered my votes, did the Freddies get their name from Freddy Laker?
He did so much for flying, Sir Richard Branson named his first aircraft, "Spirit of Sir Freddie",
I believe.

Yes indeed, my understanding is that the Freddies got their name from the great Freddy Laker!

Virgin Atlantic 747-123 serial number G-VMIA ex EI-CAI is named "Spirit of Sir Freddie", I assume because Miami was VS first destination.
I was initially concerned that the tribute was to Freddie Krueger of Elm Street fame

Markie: don't be stunned, it is the same every year. Those programs that post a link from their web-site to the voting form, win an award!

Simple.

Those who saw my predictions on LiveTalk yesterday will know how easy it is to guess who will win - even my prediction about AA getting a 'Special Award' came true (but of course that is another story).
