UA Pledges Never to Boot Passengers for Flight Crew

In the wake of the notoriety left by last week’s incident of the violent removal of a passenger, a United Airlines spokesperson claims that the carrier is reviewing its policies, and will cease allowing employees to replace civilians aboard overbooked flights.

“We issued an updated policy to make sure crews traveling on our aircraft are booked at least 60 minutes prior to departure,” said spokesperson Maggie Schmerin in an email. “This is one of our initial steps in a review of our policies.”

So how long do we wait for the article about 100 people missing their dream trip which will of course include a sick kid or someone going to a wedding, to Orlando when they can't get a crew there fast enough because they don't wanna UDB someone? Don't wanna rehash the whole thing over again, but my issue with that incident was he was already on board. If you UDB someone before they get on at least it can be dealt with better. I think this 60 minute thing is a good idea, but I'm sure it'll backfire at some point.
