Record Set for Number of Passports Issued in Ireland

More than 700,000 passports were issued by the Irish Passport Service this year, which, according to the organization, is one for the books. The office said while the rise in the number of passports issued between 2015 and 2016 was just 5 percent, the total number of applications received from Britain in that time is considerably higher.
