MIA App Is a Personal Travel Assistant

Miami International Airport (MIA) has announced that they will be launching a new app tomorrow that will help guests to find their gates, shop and dine at the airport with ease. The new app, MIA Airport Official 2.0, will make use of the well-publicized Beacon technology and use Internet access to directly influence the experience of airport customers as they check-in and depart.

The app will essentially function as a personalized travel assistant. Guests will be able to scan boarding passes and receive turn-by-turn, blue-dot navigation guides to their gates; there will be run-downs of estimated walk times, live flight updates and personalized suggestions for dining options based on the profile that the customer creates.
