Egypt: Airport Improvements Will Reinvigorate Russian Tourism

On Sunday, Egyptian officials claimed that the country was making progress on meeting demands put in place by Russia regarding national airport security before Russia will commence flights to the region once again. Fifteen months ago, Islamic State extremists downed a Russian airliner over the Sinai Peninsula, and Egypt has since devoted enormous sums to improving its security and image in the wake of the incident.

Russian officials confirmed that Egyptian security has improved, but no date has been set yet for flights to resume.
