Airline to Teach Employees Martial Arts

Pobeda Airlines, a low-cost Russian carrier, is reportedly teaching its employees sambo and judo – both forms of martial arts – so that they can protect themselves against any instances that may arise with aggressive passengers. For example, just last month a man punched an airline manager when he was refused boarding on a flight at Vnukovo International Airport (VKO) because he was too late. The airline initially toyed with the idea of hiring private security, but backed out after learning it would increase the price of tickets.
