Sofitel Mumbai BKC - Magnifique Romance Package Review

The booking was done via www.accorhotels.com. The trip was a one night stay in Mumbai on our return back from my honeymoon. I had stayed at Sofitel BKC once before and loved it so I decided to book a Magnifique Romance package and have my wife experience it too. Our main interest was eating at Jyran restaurant there.

Additionally in the booking special request I mentioned that I was going to be there as part of my honeymoon trip and I have built up hype for the hotel to my wife so I hope the stay goes along very well.

At check in the depity guest relationship manager was there with two other people. As soon as we entered they did a tika on our forehead (Indian tradition), they gave us a boque of flowers to welcome us and they also had garlands but we refused that. They took our IDs and checked us in, the relationship manager came with us to show us our rooms.

The day before our arrival I got a call from the deputy guest relationship manager. She confirmed the booking and the time I was arriving. Additionally, she arranged airport pickup for us and asked us to meet her when we arrive at the hotel.

At the airport, we were picked up in a BMW 5 series Sedan. We were offered bottled water and also any aerated drinks like Pepsi if we wanted. The car was very clean, fresh, they had just sprayed some nice freshner too. The ride was comfortable, it was a pleasant surprise to have the pickup in a BMW.

The big and awesomesurprise of the night came as we went to our room. Sofitel BKC has 14 floors with 14th floor being a Club floor. We went to the 12th floor. We turned the opposite direction from where all the room signs were and we come to a stop in front of a huge door. On the door I see the sign for "Imperial Suite". They didn't tell us at check in but they upgraded us to their Imperial Suite (I think if we were staying for more than one night they probably wouldn't have done so).

This suite is magnificent. Spacious, great sitting area, huge TV, big bedroom and bathroom. Also has a kids room and guest bathroom. My wife obviously was overjoyed at such service and I frankly couldn't believe it.

We were also given a champagne (as part of Magnifique Romance package) and a cake.

She asked what time I planned to checkout, I said 5pm. That was not an issue, late checkout was given to us.

The room itself as you can see from the pictures was amazing. The bed was soft, pillows were great. It's hard to describe how we were feeling but everything in the room was 10/10.

For dining we had dinner and lunch at Jyran. For dinner we went to the restaurant, for lunch we had it via room service. Jyran is the place where I tell people I have had some of the best Indian food till date. It is their speciality kebabs restaurant and if you find yourself in Mumbai, this place is a must try I think. They also make great drinks there and service is great too. One issue we had is due to flight late arrival we got to dinner at 10:30 so we kept it light overall.

For morning breakfast we opted to use Club Mileseme instead of breakfast in bed. As always, they have great food in the Club.

For lunch, we also ordered from there. Their specialities - Chooza Makhani and Jyran Dal. Had our champagne along with the food too. They came to the suite, set the table up for us (well they have a rather huge dining table in this room). Food was once again excellent. I ate so much I didn't have dinner that day.

The service we received from the hotel staff, restaurant staff was amazing. Before checkout the relationship manager came to see us and gave us a gift too! Two coasters and also a picture of us from check in holding the boque they gave us. I have never had such personalized service at a hotel before.

I give my stay a 10/10. So does my wife. We were extremely happy, from the upgrade we got to the service we got. We loved it. I would recommend Sofitel BKC to anybody without any hesitation.

And they made our honeymoon especially memorable. We will never forget it.
