Garden View Deluxe Room

Let me start off by saying this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Best. Everything from the room to the service was above and beyond.

On our second part of the Italy trip, we spent four days in Lake Como, right near the swiss border. It was a beautiful place in general, but the Grand Hotel Tremezzo really made it special. Getting there was actually quite simple. Since we were in Rome, we took the EuroTrain up to Milan. Then, we had a black car take us from Porto Garibali station to the hotel, about forty five minutes away. Pretty painless. The moment I arrived, I was in shock. This place looked like a palace. The driver pulled into the the drop-off and immediately we were greeted by three staff members. They had our luggage on a cart and up to our room in a matter of minutes. Then we made our way to the lobby via a very stylish elevator. The check-in was right near the elevator. Right upon stepping into the space, one of the fantastic members of the concierge team met us and gave us a quick tour of the floor. Everything was so grand and beautiful. She then gave us our key and pointed us towards the elevators. One thing I found very charming was the key itself. It was not a key card, but rather a more traditional turn key. It also had a stone on the end heavy enough that you can easily know if you have it in your pocket. Very cool.

Walking into the room was mesmerizing. The first thing you notice is the grand bathroom right in front of the door, clad with a mediterranean marble. There were also many amenities on offer including everything from bath salts to a Grand Tremezzo branded comb. I found it very classy the way they put their logo on many of the products at the hotel. The main bedroom was nice as well. It was a nicely maintained vintage style, with old crown moldings as well as some elegant italian furniture. My favorite part of this room is the balcony, with a couple chairs and a beautiful garden view. The staff prepared some snacks and drinks for us on arrival. They also included a very thoughtful letter, addressed to the family. I sat in the comfortable velvet chairs and ate some of the fruit. It was a beautiful environment to be in, let alone sleep in. I could not believe this hotel.

This was at the end of a long travel day, so we made plans to go to the pool. One of the coolest things about the Grand Tremezzo was the front pool. It was a pool inside of a lake. What is that? It's a fresh water filtered pool surrounded by a ring of docks sitting on the lake. It was awesome. There was also a nice beach and many chairs to relax. This resort has so much food and out here they had a very large bar which served every drink in the book along with all types of food and appetizers.

One thing to note is how many restaurants they have in the hotel. In addition to the L'Escala Restaurant and Wine bar,La Terraza, and their T bar, they also have a pizza place in the back of the hotel at the pool. I know, it's a lot. Not to mention the few within a short walk from the hotel. Needless to say, you should not be worried about running out of food options. My favorite was L'Escala where I got to cook my own meat, but more on that later.

This hotel was fantastic, probably one of the most luxurious thing was the "T Spa". It was so grand. The whole lobby and pool was covered in beautiful polished slate. Now I was going to get a treatment, but at almost €100 for the shortest massage, it was not worth it. Still, it was pretty awesome to take a dip in the pool. There were built in chairs with jets that massage your body while looking out at the beautiful view. Unfortunately, I don't have any spa pictures.I have to say, I had the most brilliant time here at the Grand Tremezzo Hotel in Lake Como. There are plenty of hotels here in the area, but I can say hands down that this is the best. No. Question.
