I opted to taste test the Hibiki 21 and John Walker King George V 1934 whiskies side by side. I'm not fluent in high-end whisky by any means, but what really made an impression was how intoxicating just the smell was. You breathe in and it's hard not to cough. The John Walker in particular felt really smoky. It's less the taste than the feeling of warmth that really makes an impression on me with these. Definitely an exciting experience, but not one that has me clamoring to buy it myself.
