Schengen pax arrive on Z level. They go through the security checkpoint and after clearing go down one more level. The passport control on the right is where they'll go if they want to go to Z and the elevators and border control is open. There is no direct connection between the checkpoint and border control, so they have to go down to A level and come back up again.
