Airports are inherently not mobility friendly - see DOH, HKG or any other top airport. It's the nature of the industry.

Fortunately, there are options such as carts to assist.

If only you understood how both inappropriate and offensive that comment is.

dunno about that being so triggering...seems brilliant. Plenty people do this in other airports to avoid long walks. Shrug.

This is the great conundrum of airport design. The public wants a large choice of nonstop flights to every destination under the sun but they want it from a building small enough where they don't have to fight a crowd or walk more than 100 yards. Problem is that all three things can't be done.

Perhaps those with mobility problems can use services like thunderdeacon mentioned in this post.

They did have an open cart shuttle in the tunnel. It would have added time but cut down on the walking for those that have trouble walking long distances.

If you have concerns, you can also contact SLC's Airport ADA Coordinator. Their website provides multiple ways to contact that person:

Having family in the SLC area, I fly in a few times a year for short visits. I agree the new airport sucks! I usually travel with just a small backpack, I can't imagine doing it with full size cabin bags. Just as bad, the signage for the passenger pickup area is horribly confusing. I believe the sign says "Ground Transportation" but you actually have to walk past that escalator to the next roadway for passenger pickup. If you go down the first one (which you inevitably will your first time there) you can't even walk across the street because there's barricades with no opening. So back inside, upstairs, across the road, back downstairs.

As this thread is primarily about the SLC airport and not about American Airlines nor the AAdvantage program, we will move this to the West forum for further discussion. Thanks. /JY1024, AAdvantage co-moderator

The USA/The West forum is a generally fun and civil and helpful place. The amount of time it would take to continue to remove off-topic, snarky, bickering, uncivil posts from this thread would not be a good use of time.

Therefore if someone has some thoughtful, helpful, civil thoughts on the SLC experience this might be the thread to post on:

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/west...?highlight=SLC

Questions/information about SLC or Salt Lake City-area restaurants and hotels might go on these threads:

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/west...ea-thread.html

Thanks for your understanding,
